I find this version perfection. Elkie voice is awesome. I was told she sang this at Jazz club in London. Tears falling down her face.She was confessing her state of mind….

Oh, this is so beautiful. Elkie Brooks’ “Lilac Wine” must be, imho, one of the greatest recordings ever made. This gives me goose-bumps all over. Not many songs and/or singers can do that to me . Amazing.

This is one of the greatest songs of all time, Elkie Brooks never got the recognition she deserved,although she has been so successful in her career. Amazed that this song was not covered by Celine Dion, would have been right up her street.

Nothing like dying young to achieve status of being a good singer . This is the case of Buckley…
